Homeless roundtable

Advocates for Merced County’s homeless will conduct the first meeting of the Central Valley Homeless Roundtable from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Sam Pipes Room at Merced City Hall, 678 W. 18th St. The meeting will cover many topics related to homeless people. FFA plant sale

The annual Atwater FFA Fall Plant Sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Atwater High School Ag Department, 2201 Fruitland Ave. For more information, go to

Pancake breakfast

The Merced City Firefighters Association IAFF Local 1479 will hold its 25th annual pancake breakfast 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Station 55, 3520 N. Parsons Ave. All proceeds go to local sports organizations. Children can meet Sparky (the fire dog) and Hydro (the fire hydrant). Fire engines and trucks will also be on display. There will be bounce houses, station tours and a live vehicle extrication demonstration.

Blessing of the Animals

The annual Blessing of the Animals is scheduled to be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Yosemite Ave. All animals are welcome, but must be leashed or in crates. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call (209) 383-0632.

Men’s Day Out

Merced High ’54 reunion

Merced High’s Class of 1954 will have its reunion 11 a.m. Saturday at Gateway Gardens, West 18th and M streets. The eighth annual Christian Bikers Rally is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Madera Fairgounds, located at Highway 99 and Cleveland Avenue.
