Two homes were destroyed Saturday by a fast-moving vegetation fire north of Vacaville, Cal Fire reported.

The fire consumed about 55 acres and prompted evacuations on John Wayne and Skyhawk lanes.

By 6:32 p.m., Cal Fire estimated that the blaze was 90 percent contained.

Solano County sheriff’s deputies and animal control officers supported multiple fire departments in the area of the 3000 block of Estate Drive throughout the day, sheriff’s officials reported in a Facebook post.

According to the National Weather Service, a Red Flag Warning has been issued from Saturday afternoon through early Tuesday in Northern California because of gusty winds and low humidity.

The winds will develop with warming and drying conditions, then expand southeastward late Sunday across portions of the Sierra Nevada, the weather service reports.
