Sacramento Public Library patrons couldn't get enough of John Grisham and Fifty Shades of Grey last year.

Grisham, the king of legal thrillers, wrote the most-circulated print book at the Sacramento Public Library last year: "Sycamore Row," a sequel to his early novel "A Time to Kill." It was one of Grisham's best-received novels of late, earning an average of 4.5 stars from about 16,000 Amazon.com readers.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is a racy, adults-only series that few Sacramento library patrons dared to bring to the circulation desk -- but that got checked out in droves in e-book format.

The most-circulated non-fiction title was Cheryl Strayed's "Wild," a story of her journey on the Pacific Crest Trail. It's been made into a movie starring Reese Witherspoon.

Here's a full list of the most popular Sacramento Public Library books of 2014. The links will take you to each book's library catalog entry.
