Voter drive at Capitol
The secretary of state’s office is holding a voter registration event in Sacramento on Monday, the state’s registration deadline. Those who haven’t registered can do so on the north steps of the state Capitol from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. To register, you will need a California driver’s license or identification card number, the last four digits of your Social Security number and your date of birth. People can also register to vote at RegisterToVote.ca.gov. Registration applications must be postmarked or received in person by elections officials no later than midnight. Online voter registration applications must also be submitted by midnight.
Paving work scheduled
The parking lot at West Sacramento City Hall, 1110 W. Capitol Ave., will be closed Monday to accommodate paving work. City Hall visitors are being asked to park in the overflow lot to the east of City Hall at 1020 W. Capitol Ave. The paving is the final phase of the city’s solar project. The city reports that panels have been installed on the roof at City Hall and over parking spaces in the lot.

The Humanities and International Studies Program at C.K. McClatchy High School, 3066 Freeport Blvd., invites prospective students and their families to learn about the program. A meeting is planned from 6 to 7 p.m. in the high school’s main gym. Go to www.ckmhisp.org for more information.

▪ The Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op offers a class on fermentation basics at its new location, 2820 R St. Participants will learn techniques for lactic fermented pickles, garlic tamari pickles, kimchi, carrot-beet-red cabbage kraut, ginger pickle and curried cauliflower pickles. This class, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., will be taught by Marga den Hoed of Common Kettle Farm. The cost is $35 for co-op members and $45 for others.
▪ Drum legend Terry Bozzio performs at Harlow’s, 2708 J St. at 5:30 p.m. Bozzio, known for his work with Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck and U.K., and for his solo ventures, celebrates his latest release, “Terry Bozzio Composer Series.” This will be a night of solo drumming and includes compositions from throughout his career as well as improvisation.
