Nearly all California Department of Motor Vehicle offices are back online after a system shutdown Monday.

The major computer failure on Monday stymied motorists who wanted to get paperwork handled at field offices throughout the state.

As of Thursday evening, there were a half-dozen offices still affected by the system shutdown, none of them in the greater Sacramento region.

Problems at DMV offices in Carmichael, the Sacramento Business Service Center, Auburn, Jackson, Stockton and Yuba City had been resolved.
