About 150 people protesting the election of Donald Trump as president gathered at the state Capitol on Friday evening and marched through downtown Sacramento around 6:30 pm.
Some early reports suggested the protesters were heading down L Street toward the Golden 1 Center, where the Sacramento Kings were scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Clippers starting at 7:30 p.m
Police were blocking off portions of L Street and side streets between I-5 and the Capitol, but the blockades were normal game-night procedures, and there were no protesters near the arena.
The protesters took over the Tower Bridge for about 30 minutes, stopping traffic in both directions, before turning back toward the Capitol.

Police said the group started heading back down Capitol Mall just after 7 p.m. Officers set up rolling roadblocks along side streets until the group reached its destination.
The protesters chanted loudly, but there were no reports of violence.
