More than 11,000 SMUD customers have their power restored Tuesday after an outage was caused by a fallen tree limb, SMUD reported.

According to a power outage map, just before 7 a.m., 11,318 homes in parts of the Laguna community in Elk Grove were affected.

Jonathan Tudor, spokesman for SMUD, said crews found a piece of tree bark on a power line in the area. SMUD believes it was remnants of a tree branch that caused a spark. Power was fully restored around 8:30 a.m.
