Blood donation opportunity

The Bloodmobile will be in the West Sacramento City Hall parking lot, 1110 W. Capitol Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for people wanting to donate blood. Participants can receive a holiday T-shirt. Call 916-617-4528 to make an appointment. For more information, go to www.bloodsource.org.

Special string concert

See the fruits of Sacramento State’s String Project during a concert at 7 p.m. at the university’s Music Recital Hall, 6000 J St. Sacramento State music students provided affordable lessons in violin and cello to youths. The young musicians will present their winter concert, including Ukrainian folk dances, a Mozart piece and a mariachi performance. Go to www.csus.edu/music for more information.

Things to do

▪ The Sacramento Kings play the Los Angeles Lakers at 7:30 p.m. at Golden 1 Center.

▪ The Greenhouse hosts a Handmade Happy Hour where participants can learn how to create and design their own holiday wreaths. Local florist La Raye Emmert will lead the class, which runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at 114 K St. The $40 cost includes all materials as well as beverages and small bites.
