A burglar alarm activation brought South Lake Tahoe police to a liquor store Wednesday morning where officers found a shattered front door and two men inside the business.

The burglar alarm was tripped at about 1 a.m. Wednesday at Tahoe Keys Liquor, 2297 Lake Tahoe Blvd. An arriving officer found two men in the burglarized store, while an El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputy stopped another man driving from the scene.

Arriving officers arrested Lorenzo Jackson, 20, of Antioch, Ryan Mello, 21, of San Lorenzo, and Shayan Taghi, 20, of San Ramon on suspicion of burglary. Taghi was also booked for suspicion of auto theft.

Police are investigating a second burglary at American Gas, 1140 Emerald Bay Road, that occurred before the Tahoe Keys Liquor break in. The three men arrested in the liquor store burglary generally match the description of burglars who broke into American Gas, police said.
