A dog named Frank met a loose manhole cover Monday, and things didn’t go so well.
Then he met some Sacramento firefighters, and his morning got a lot better.
A Sacramento Fire Department crew arrived to a report of a trapped dog in North Natomas to find Frank had fallen 15 feet into a storm drain. Firefighters requested a hazmat crew to check out the air in the drain, and set up a tripod to lower a rescuer down the manhole after receiving the all-clear.
A few “here boys” later, and the firefighter placed Frank in a special harness so they could both be hauled back up. Firefighters report Frank, who was reunited with his grateful owner, was in good condition other than a few scrapes and bruises.
