International fest in Rancho Cordova

Rancho Cordova’s 2017 International Festival, celebrating the community’s ethnic diversity, is planned from 5 to 9 p.m. at Village Green Park, 3141 Bridgeway Drive. Sale benefits JFK marching band

A mattress sale fundraiser benefiting the John F. Kennedy High School Marching Band and Color Guard takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school, 6715 Gloria Drive. There will be more than 25 different mattress sets on display that will be priced up to 50 percent less than retail, according to event organizers.

‘Hairspray’ shown in Roseville

A movie night singalong featuring the film “Hairspray” is scheduled at 8 p.m. at Vernon Street Town Square, 311 Vernon St., Roseville. The move will be played on a 30-foot screen with live performers during the music. Admission is free. Concessions and beverages will be available for purchase.

Fire Station 2 open house

Sacramento’s annual series of fire station open houses continues Saturday, with an open house at Station 2, 1229 I St. Take a tour of the station, climb aboard an engine and meet Sparky the Fire Dog. Midtown farmers market

Hosted by the Midtown Association and managed by Unseen Heroes, this free, family-friendly market takes place year-round, every Saturday, on 20th Street between J and L streets. The Midtown Farmers Market showcases local agriculture, prepared foods, artisans and crafters. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis

The Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis is a free, family-friendly festival with three days of art, education, food, music and environmental awareness. The festival happens each year on Mother’s Day weekend at the UC Davis campus quad. It features three stages with 50 acts, vegetarian food vendors, educational workshops and more than 150 vendors.
