Placer County sheriff's deputies were unable to locate a reported landslide on eastbound Interstate 80 on Friday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Office in a Twitter post about 2:40 p.m. had warned motorists of the possible hazard near the Baxter offramp.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch, effective through Saturday afternoon, for portions of the Sierra foothills and the Sacramento Valley. People are advised to be alert to possible small-stream flooding, as well as possible mud and rock slides.
Friday's storm brought rain to much of the Sierra., with snowfall mostly at elevations above 9,000 feet.
