More than 7,400 frozen and fresh turkeys were donated Friday to volunteers and employees at the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services at the charitable organization’s headquarters, 3333 Third Ave. Thanksgiving dinner trimmings, such as boxed stuffing and canned cranberries, were also donated. On Monday, the turkeys will be passed out to Sacramento County residents. People can start lining up at 7 a.m. Monday. Anyone who wants a turkey must show proof that they live in Sacramento County. The food bank recommends coming to the turkey giveaway after noon, when the line will be shorter and move more quickly. Participants are urged to bring a cart or tote bag to carry the turkey and side dishes.
