REMEMBERING PEARL HARBOR
Today is the 72nd anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Here is a list of remembrance ceremonies in the Sacramento region:
• United States Submarine Veterans, Gold Country Base, holds its 27th annual Pearl Harbor Memorial and Wreath-Laying Ceremony at 9 a.m. at Discovery Park, 1600 Garden Highway, in Sacramento. The ceremony is open to veterans, active duty personnel, their families and the public at large. Music will be provided by the 35-member Auburn Concert Band.

• A service will be held at 11 a.m. at the World War II monument on Vernon Street in Roseville, sponsored by Roseville Historical Society and Veterans of Roseville.
• Fleet Reserve Association Branch 275 will hold a ceremony at 9:55 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Building, 130 Placerville Drive, Placerville. The event includes an invocation, presentation of flags, a movie showing Pearl Harbor being bombing and speaker George Peabody, who served in the Marine Corps at Iwo Jima during World War II.
• The local chapter of Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors is holding a remembrance at 9 a.m. at Brookfields Restaurant in Rancho Cordova, 11135 Folsom Blvd.
