Placer sheriff’s office throws the book at Colfax pair

Two Colfax residents were arrested for a host of offenses perpetrated on another resident of the mountain community.

Donald Scott Bell, 46, and Robin R. Brawley, 23, were arrested on suspicion of torture, kidnapping, penetration with a foreign object, false imprisonment, burglary, robbery, making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.

The two are accused of committing an assault at the victim’s Colfax residence on Nov. 30. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies suspect that Bell and Brawley broke into the victim’s home and waited for the victim to arrive.

Bell and Brawley are suspected of first using a Taser to stun the victim and then bound the victim’s arms and ankles. A press release did not say whether the victim was male or female.

The victim was assaulted for six hours and a knife was allegedly held to the victim’s throat. Bell and Brawley are also suspected of taking property from the home.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.
