Midtown Farmers Market

What: The Midtown Farmers Market offers locally grown produce, prepared food and arts and crafts. Presented by the Midtown Business Association, the family-friendly event provides a fun gathering spot where residents and business owners can shop and discover area agriculture and artisans. The market accepts WIC and SNAP (EBT/CalFresh).

Yoga for tots

What: Sacramento Children’s Museum offers a yoga class for children 3 and under. Adults will be able to breathe, play and connect with their little ones, who will practice yoga through guided movement, songs, story and play. The museum is a nonprofit organization that seeks to create a learning environment through hands-on activities in a 7,000-square-foot building in Rancho Cordova.

Greyhound meet & greet

What: Retired racing greyhounds will be available for adoption at the Greyhound Friends for Life Meet & Greet. The nonprofit greyhound rescue adoption agency looks for homes to place former racing dogs. Most are 2 to 4 years old. The dogs are very quiet, don’t require a large yard or house, are well mannered, and are leash- and house-trained. The majority of the dogs the agency offers are kept at a foster kennel in Auburn.

Coyote Tales

What: Learn about coyotes and why some people call them the “Trickster” during a program at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. Learn about the animal, hear some coyote stories and examine a coyote pelt, skull and a mounted specimen. After the talk, take a walk around the trails with a naturalist, searching for coyote tracks and scat.
