Judging the flock

Wildlife artist Rick Radigonda, above, judges some of the top 400 waterfowl art entries from California schoolchildren Thursday in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s annual Junior Duck Stamp competition.

The submissions, from kindergartners to high school seniors, were displayed at Sacramento’s Crocker Art Museum.

The Best of Show entry was the work of Jonathan Chen of Fremont, whose artwork will be one of 53 from around the nation vying to be put on a U.S. postage stamp.
