May 26, 2014 03:31 PM

Sacramento-area motorists returning to work Tuesday after the Memorial Day weekend are reminded that lane closures will be in effect on westbound Highway 50 as the next phase of the Fix50 project gets under way.

Two to three lanes will be open on westbound Highway 50 in the project area between 18th and 24th streets through downtown Sacramento during the first phase of work on the westbound freeway, scheduled May 27-June 10. No ramps will be affected during this phase.

Work on the eastbound portion of the project has been completed.

The project is to be completed by late June.
