Along with Mayor Kevin Johnson and other elected officials, the Sacramento NAACP is hosting another in a series of forums Monday aimed at examining issues raised by the Aug. 9 shooting death of Michael Brown, the unarmed 18-year-old killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo.
Organizers say the goal is to develop a plan to improve trust and transparency between the community and law enforcement.
Monday’s forum, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., takes place at the St. Paul Baptist Church campus, 4036 14th Ave., Room 201, in Sacramento.
Attendees will include youth groups, law enforcement, educators, judicial officials and religious and community leaders.
