Applause: Kudos to bidders at zoo fundraiser, culinary arts students, Barry Goggin

Kudos to: Generous bidders at Wild Affair Sacramento Zoo fundraiser

Accomplishment: Donated $4,450 to the zoo

Details: Steve O’Brien, husband of Mary Healy, late executive director of the zoo, made two pies to be sold at auction. One sold for $1,600 to Peter Lang, who donated it back to be sold again, this time for $1,250 to Mike Voris. The other pie was purchased by Jim and Carlin Naify for $1,600.

Kudos to: Culinary arts students at Cosumnes Oaks High School

Accomplishment: Catered to some VIPs

Details: The students assisted caterers with serving guests attending the induction ceremony for the California Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014, a lineup that included basketball great Kareem Abdul Jabbar and filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

Kudos to: Barry Goggin, former president of the Better Business Bureau of Sacramento

Accomplishment: Inducted into the BBB Hall of Fame

Details: Goggin was recognized for his 40-year career as the Sacramento BBB president.
