A Feather River College student was found dead Sunday in a cabin near Lake Almanor, where at least 50 students had been attending a party.
Abigail “Grace” Holland of Park City, Utah, apparently died during the night, Plumas County Sheriff Greg Hagwood said. Students who spent the night in the cabin found her dead on the living-room floor Sunday morning, he said.
Sheriff’s officials found evidence of alcohol use and are investigating reports of drug use, Hagwood said. College athletic director Merle Trueblood owns the cabin, but Hagwood said there is no evidence that he attended the party or knew it was happening.
Initial autopsy results should be available within 48 hours, but a toxicology report will take several weeks, Hagwood said.
