CHP officer involved in collision prompting road closures in Auburn, authorities say
A collision involving a California Highway Patrol officer in Auburn closed roads Wednesday, authorities said.
The incident happened at Nevada and Placer streets, according to a social media post by the CHP’s Auburn office at 2:17 p.m. on X.
An officer complained of pain, according to an Instagram post by the CHP’s Auburn office. No one suffered severe injuries, the CHP said.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led up to the collision and if anyone else suffered injuries. The Instagram post by the CHP’s office showed a helicopter landing on westbound Interstate 80.
Caltrans closed westbound I-80 on Nevada Street as the investigation was underway.
A request for more information from CHP Auburn spokeswoman Officer Yvette Norman was not immediately returned.
