Sacramento escape room is one of the best in the nation, USA Today says. What’s in store?
Sacramento has one of the best escape rooms in the country, USA Today says.
Enchambered, at the corner of Howe Avenue and Arden Way, placed third on the publication’s list of the top 10 escape rooms in the United States for 2024.
The family-owned activity center beat out similar operations in Michigan, Massachusetts and California to place in the top five.
The Bureau Adventure Games in Orlando was No. 1 on the list, and Escape Blair Witch in Las Vegas came in second place.
Coleen Messteri, manager and co-owner of Enchambered, said it was an honor to be recognized.
“It’s just an honor, a huge honor even to be on the list,” Messteri said. “To make third place is pretty amazing. We’re all super happy with that.”
What is Sacramento escape room Enchambered?
Enchambered: Sacramento Escape Room boasts an average five-star rating on Yelp and Google with more than 12,000 reviews combined.
It opened its doors at 2230 Arden Way, Suite C, in the Arden-Arcade area in August 2016, offering games and activities for private groups to complete.
Enchambered recently launched its latest game, called The Collection, Messteri said. Up to eight people can play the game, and guests have 75 minutes to finish it.
Other games include Skull Witch, The Whispering Halls, Containment Beach and Trouble in the Toy Shop.
“Basically you’re metaphorically locked into a themed environment. And within that theme there are hidden clues, hidden secrets, sometimes hidden passageways, depending on the game that you’re playing,” Messteri said. “You’re in there to search really well, collect a lot of the items that are spurring around the room.
“Then you put those items together, as far as either a clue or a puzzle or some kind of logic thinking, progression towards a whole team towards the end of an hour.”
Is there an age limit?
Enchambered is available for all ages, but adult supervision is required for those 17 and younger.
Children under age 9 might find the game confusing and challenging, the escape room’s website said.
How much are ticket prices?
Ticket prices for Enchambered cost $40 per person for the Containment Breach, Whispering Halls, and Skull Witch games. The Trouble in the Toyshop game is $35 per person.
Children 7 to 17 are eligible for a $5 discount, as are students and military personnel with valid ID.
