An entertainment and dining venue is opening Friday in West Sacramento with bowling, laser tag, arcade games and a restaurant all housed under one roof on West Capitol Avenue.
The new 37,000-square-foot space is the second location of the BLVD, which opened its first venue in Bakersfield in 2018. Tami Thompson, the director of sales and marketing, said the range of options inside the BLVD was designed to attract people of all ages.
“I know the kids are going to love it here, but I also think that the adults are going to love it here,” she said in a phone interview.
The building at 1298 W. Capitol Ave. was occupied by a Safeway before it closed in 2018. Construction to renovate the venue began nine months ago, Thompson said.
The BLVD’s 20 bowling lanes light up with graphics, using a technology called Spark, according to Thompson. The venue is also equipped with 30 televisions and a 17-foot screen in the restaurant, she said.
“You can come sit at our bar, sit in our restaurant, watch the baseball game or whatever sports that we’re going to have,” she added.
The food menu on the BLVD’s website features a variety of pizzas and burgers, as well as appetizers such as bacon jalapeño wontons and fried pickles.
Starting Aug. 17, the BLVD will host events in an area of the building that can fit up to 155 people or be divided for multiple parties, Thompson said.
The BLVD opens Friday, after a preview event Wednesday evening for which the business sold $53 tickets. It will be open at 11 a.m. daily, Thompson said, closing at 10 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
