How much of 2025 do you really remember?

California celebrated our “demisemiseptcent​ennial” — or 175th anniversary — of statehood. The Sacramento Zoo scrapped its planned move to Elk Grove, and announced its intent to expand its longtime footprint.

Sacramento also grieved larger-than-life figures who died this year, including longtime KCRA news anchor Stan Atkinson, former U.S. Rep. John Burton and Alvin “Big Al” Sams.
