Fine fall weather: Two more days of delightful fall weather are in the forecast before some much-needed rain arrives on Halloween. Today’s high is expected to be 79 degrees, which is 7 degrees warmer than usual for late October. The rain won’t arrive until Friday when light-to-moderate precipitation is expected in Sacramento. Trick-or-treating could be a showery experience

Murder charges filed: As the suspect in Friday’s deputy slayings revealed yet another name for his long list of identities, prosecutors filed murder and other charges against both him and his wife, and laid the groundwork for a possible death penalty case against the 34-year-old Mexican national they’re still calling Marcelo Marquez.
