Calm, warm weather will precede a fairly strong frontal system that is expected to arrive Friday with showery weather.
The high in Sacramento on Wednesday and Thursday is expected to be 79 degrees, which is a little warm for late October. However, on Halloween the weather will change.
The National Weather Service is predicting Sacramento will likely experience light to moderate rain on Friday, including showers and a possibility of thunderstorms during the trick-or-treating hours.
In addition, the Sierra Nevada will likely get some snow. Snow could fall as low as the 4,000-foot elevation level by Saturday morning.
