The California Highway Patrol announced that a pedestrian decoy enforcement operation planned for Saturday in north Sacramento County has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The operation, involving plain-clothes CHP officers posing as pedestrians, was intended to remind motorists of California’s right-of-way laws, requiring that drivers yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. The CHP reports an increase in recent months in the number of pedestrians and bicyclists killed in collisions in the region.
CHP officials said the decoy operation has been postponed until weather is more favorable.
