Sunny skies forecast for Sacramento

The morning fog will soon make way for a sunny Saturday.

Moist air and cold temperatures is creating the fog this morning, but that will dissipate as temperatures rise throughout the day. The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature of 68 degrees for downtown Sacramento.

“In terms of daytime highs, we’re slightly above normal by about 4 degrees,” said weather service forecaster Brooke Bingaman.

Sunday’s high temperature is expected to hit 67 degrees. The area will stay dry until Wednesday, when a minor storm brings a 35 percent chance of rain.

Here’s the seven day forecast:

Saturday: Areas of fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. North northwest wind around 11 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the morning.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Wednesday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Friday: A slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.
