The Moscow Ballet brings the Nutcracker to Northern California

The Moscow Ballet, a company of more than 40 award-winning Russian ballerinas and musicians, will stop in Cupertino as part of its 75-city U.S. tour performing the holiday classic “The Great Russian Nutcracker.”

Wild Nights and Holiday Lights

 

What: The Folsom Zoo Sanctuary will host a night of holiday light displays and animal exhibits. Other attractions include visits from Santa, performances by carolers and musicians, as well as rides on a miniature live steam train.

‘Beach Blanket Babylon’

 

What: Club Fugazi will host the holiday version of the internationally acclaimed comedy production “Beach Blanket Babylon.” The flamboyant satire follows Snow White as she encounters today’s pop-culture icons in her quest for Prince Charming.

When: 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, through Dec. 31

Holiday Bonfire

 

What: An annual holiday bonfire, including games and music for the whole family, will be hosted in downtown San Juan Bautista. The event will take place in honor of the town’s historic Hayden Family, who supplied local children with toys and candy during the holiday seasons of the Great Depression.

Ugly Sweater Wine Walk

 

What: Join the Reno Riverwalk Merchants Association in its holiday-themed Wine Walk, an annual community event. Participants will sample local and regional wines while checking out vendors and eateries along the city’s Riverwalk. Ugly sweaters are optional but encouraged.

Guided photography walk

 

What: Take a guided photo walk on a 1-mile loop trail along the Cosumnes River Preserve Wetlands. Professional photographers will help you shoot the abundant wildlife. Be sure to bring your camera gear.
