City to weigh pot regulation

The Sacramento City Council is scheduled to discuss a framework for licensing, regulating and taxing indoor commercial pot gardens. The facilities would grow medical marijuana for California cannabis businesses, including 30 permitted dispensaries within city limits. The council meets in open session starting at 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chamber, 915 I St., Sacramento.

Davis eyeing possible soda tax

The Davis City Council will discuss a soda tax and other possible measures to raise revenue. Additional ideas include a higher hotel tax, a new parcel tax and a marijuana tax. The council is scheduled to discuss the proposals at 8 p.m., Community Chambers, 23 Russell Blvd., Davis.
