Have you lost an envelope with cash in it? Rocklin Police Department has been seeking the owners of an envelope with a large amount of cash for two weeks.

The envelope was discovered by an employee at the RC Willey store at 6636 Lonetree Blvd. before being reported July 23 to the Rocklin Police Department.

Tammy Cooper, RC Willey general manager, is not sure how long the cash was in the store before it was found and would not disclose the date it was found.

“I think someone either hasn’t realized they have lost it or perhaps doesn’t know where they lost it,” Cooper said. “I really believe that any of our associates would have turned in the funds. We have the greatest associates in the world, we’ve got a great culture and it’s a wonderful place to work.”

Lt. Scott Horrillo of the Rocklin Police Department said it is a “large amount of money.” The department posted information about the envelope on its Facebook page Tuesday. So far, no one has falsely claimed the money is theirs, Horrillo said.

The Police Department will be able to verify the owner if they can describe the envelope or bag the cash is in and denominations of the bills.

The envelope can be claimed by contacting Sharon Whitaker, Rocklin Police Department’s property and evidence technician, at 916-625-5431.
