A teen is in critical condition after being shot by Lodi police officers who said he attacked them with a baseball bat.
The officers went to the teen’s home in the 400 block of North Sunset Drive on Tuesday evening. The 18-year-old, a theft suspect, took up a baseball bat and threatened that he was going to get a gun, according to a Lodi Police Department press release.
While speaking with officers, the teen allegedly attacked them with the bat. Both officers were injured, the department said in its news release.
During the attack, officers used a Taser on the teen, but it was not effective in stopping him, police said. One of the officers shot the suspect multiple times while being hit with the bat, according to the press release.
