A suspect in the Del Paso Heights shooting that left a 57-year-old man dead was arrested Tuesday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
The suspect, identified as Dean Holmes, 52, was taken into custody in San Francisco by Sacramento police detectives and was later booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He faces multiple charges, including driving with a suspended license, possession of a firearm by a felon and attempted murder.
Holmes was arrested in connection with a Sept. 4 shooting at the 3700 block of Ivy Street in Del Paso Heights. Police arrived and found a man who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital and died Sept. 7 from his injuries. He was later identified by the Coroner’s Office as Steven Rathbun of Sacramento.
Sacramento County Main Jail records show Holmes is not eligible for bail.
