A man was arrested on suspicion of growing marijuana on property in Placer County.
Leobardo Diaz, 43, a Mexican citizen, was arrested for maintaining a large illegal marijuana garden on property that did not belong to him. The owner of the property discovered the marijuana plants on Spring Garden Road in Foresthill.
The property owner then contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies destroyed the 281 plants that stood 4 to 7 feet tall on Sept. 15 and arrested Diaz, who was at work in the garden.
Deputies said they booked Diaz on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and trespassing.
