Two women were shot near Florin Road late Wednesday, leaving one of them in critical condition.
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies reported that at 11:45 p.m. the department’s dispatchers received a 911 call of shots fired and two people injured in the 7300 block of Florinda Way.
Deputies arrived and found two women with gunshot wounds. A 38-year-old woman, shot in her upper body, was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition Thursday. A 40-year-old woman, shot in her lower body, was in stable condition at the hospital.
Witnesses told deputies they heard several gunshots and the sound of a vehicle speeding away. However, there is not yet a description of the vehicle, no identity released on the shooter and no known motive.
