Rocklin’s police chief soon will start a new job as the top cop in Citrus Heights.

Ron Lawrence will take the Citrus Heights position on Oct. 31. He has been been the Rocklin chief for five years.

He replaces Christopher W. Boyd, who was recently named Citrus Heights’ city manager after serving as the city’s police chief since 2005. Boyd welcomed Lawrence as his replacement in Citrus Heights.

“Twenty-seven years of law enforcement experience in the Sacramento and Bay Area regions have earned him an excellent reputation with law enforcement professionals industrywide, and in the agencies and communities he has served,” Boyd said.

Lawrence is an adjunct professor at William Jessup University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice.
