A 45-year-old Foresthill woman accused of engaging a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male has been arrested by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials said Gina Holbrook is a former teacher in a Nevada County school district, but the 17-year-old youth was not a student of hers nor was he enrolled in the school district. They said Holbrook is no longer employed by the district.
An investigation begun by sheriff’s detectives Sept. 30 revealed that Holbrook engaged in an unlawful sexual relationship with the youth that began in late 2015 and continued for approximately eight months, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Holbrook was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sex-related offenses including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Sheriff’s officials said all the incidents took place in Placer County.
