Two women have been arrested in connection with an assault on a man who was found wounded on a Butte County roadway Saturday.
Butte County sheriff’s deputies were called about 4 p.m. to the 7300 block of Lower Wyandotte Road near Oroville regarding a man who had stumbled into the roadway with a head wound.
Deputies learned that the man had left a casino with two women and was taken to an abandoned property on Lower Wyandotte Road, where he was assaulted with pepper spray and a baseball bat, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The man was taken to a local hospital, then flown to a trauma center for treatment.
Deputies found the location where the assault occurred and learned the possible identities of the two women involved, sheriff’s officials said.
Detectives located Angela Cross, 35, and Tammy Waldrop, 40, at an address on Bessie Lane in Oroville. Detectives arrested Cross on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury and Waldrop on suspicion of being an accessory to the assault, sheriff’s officials said.
