Almost 14,000 residences in South Sacramento had power restored Sunday evening after crews worked to repair a pole insulator that had been malfunctioning.
The outage initially was attributed to a car running into a power pole.
The first reports of outages came in around 6:15 p.m., said Bob Burns, a spokesman with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. All but four residences had power restored just after 8:45 p.m.
