One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting in south Sacramento on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Just before 2 p.m., the two victims, both in their 20s, were driving near Meadowview Road and 22nd Street when they were shot by an unknown assailant or assailants. One victim was pronounced dead at a hospital and the other, was hospitalized but expected to survive, according to police spokesman Doug Morse.
The car with one victim suffering from a critical gunshot wound was found at Meadowview Road and Amherst Street, almost a mile from the scene of the shooting. Officers were later notified about the second victim with the non-fatal gunshot wound, who had arrived at a local hospital.
