A collision involving a school bus and another vehicle Friday afternoon on westbound Highway 50 blocked one lane for about an hour, causing a traffic back-up in the Placerville area.
The collision occurred about 3:15 p.m. west of Mosquito Road.
A CHP spokesman contacted about 4 p.m. said no injuries to students on board the bus were reported and that they were being transferred to another bus to be taken to the Boys and Girls Club in Placerville for pickup by parents.
Media reports later in the evening indicated 10 children had suffered injuries. A CHP dispatcher said she believed some of the youngsters complained of pain. The extent of injuries could not be confirmed Friday evening.
