The Sacramento Police Department was investigating a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon near Sonoma Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard in North Sacramento.
Shots were fired at an unidentified male just after 1 p.m. but he was not hit, said Matt McPhail, a Sacramento police spokesman.
“It’s the same crime whether you hit somebody or not,” McPhail said. If found, the shooter could be arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon “at the very least,” McPhail added.
No one had been arrested, McPhail said.
