One person was sent to a local hospital Thursday night after their car crashed into a light pole in South Natomas, said Chris Harvey, a spokesman for the Sacramento Fire Department.

The accident happened about 11 p.m. on West El Camino Avenue near Northgate Boulevard, he said. A department video of the accident shows a light pole stuck through the front driver’s side of the car.

Fire crews performed a vehicle extrication to remove the person from the vehicle, Harvey said. The driver, who was the only person in the car, was taken to a hospital. The person’s condition was not known Friday morning, he said.

Harvey said that roads were slick from rainy conditions. He urged drivers to be extra cautious while driving on wet roads.

“Everybody needs to slow down,” he said.
