Sacramento County Sheriff’s officials said they were negotiating Sunday evening with a man who locked himself in his vehicle in the Oak Park area following a reported stabbing earlier in the day.
Deputies responded about 5:30 p.m. to the stabbing incident at the Pick-N-Pull salvage center near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Gerber Road, Sgt. Tony Turnbull of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said.
The suspect fled, but was stopped near Power Inn Road and Elsie Avenue where he locked himself in his vehicle as officers negotiated with him for almost two hours, Turnbull said.
At 7:30 p.m., a SWAT team arrived on scene and the man took off in his car again, finally stopping at 40th Street near 8th Avenue where he reportedly was holding a gun in his hand, Turnbull added.

Turnbull said the victim of the stabbing is being treated at a local hospital with wounds that are not considered life threatening. The stabbing occurred after an argument over a trailer at the Pick-N-Pull, he said.
