A pedestrian has died after being hit by a pickup in Roseville on Monday evening.
The accident was reported at 6:28 p.m. on Washington Boulevard near Pleasant Street, said DeeDee Gunther, a Roseville Police Department spokeswoman.
A 62-year-old man was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger southbound on Washington when he struck the pedestrian, Gunther said. The pedestrian, a man who appeared to be in his 50s, was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, she said. He was not identified Monday.
She said the driver of the pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with police. There is a crosswalk at the site where the pedestrian was hit, but it has not been determined whether the pedestrian was in the crosswalk, Gunther said.
