A lockdown at Sacramento’s Luther Burbank High School has been lifted, but Sacramento police say the search continues one person following a pursuit by officers late Tuesday afternoon.
The school was locked down as a precautionary measure during the initial search, police said.
Police reported about 4:45 p.m. that two people fled officers in a vehicle, then got out of the vehicle and ran through the high school campus, south of Florin Road and west of Franklin Boulevard. Police did not say what led to the pursuit.
One person was taken into custody shortly before 5 p.m., and police reported that two firearms were found in the abandoned vehicle. A police helicopter crew and K-9 officer were aiding in the search for the second person.
