A fire at an Arden Arcade apartment complex early Saturday displaced 16 people, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. in an upstairs unit at a four-apartment complex in the 3300 block of Edison Avenue. Twenty-five firefighters responded to the blaze, bringing multiple hose lines into the units while other firefighters searched for potential victims.
Sixteen people and and one kitten were safely evacuated, officials said. There were no injuries.
Arson investigators responded to the scene but authorities said the cause of the fire is unknown. Damages were estimated at $100,000, officials said.
