A 48-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound early Sunday in south Sacramento, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said.
Dispatchers received a 1 a.m. call of shots fired near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 44th Avenue, according to spokesman Sgt. Tony Turnbull.
Deputies found the victim with a gunshot wound in his upper body. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead.
Sheriff’s detectives had not yet determined a suspect or motive. The victim’s identity will be available once his family is notified.
