Sacramento police are investigating the shooting death of a man found early Sunday on a curb in south Sacramento.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, the Sacramento Police Department received a call about a man who had been shot in the 2300 block of 51st Avenue, a department news release said. Officers found the victim lying on the south curb of the street.
Officers began life-saving efforts, the release said, but the man died at the scene. The department believes this was an isolated incident, but the motive was unknown.

The victim’s identity will be released by coroner’s officials after the next of kin has been contacted. Police ask anyone with information to contact the dispatch center at 916-264-5471 or submit an anonymous tip using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
